Bajuin Waterfall is one of the natural tourism icons in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan. Located on the slopes of Mount Meratus, precisely in Sungai Bakar Village, Pelaihari District, this destination offers stunning natural views and exciting experiences that will pamper nature lovers.

After going into decline in the 1990s, Bajuin Falls has been shining again since its reopening in 2020 as Bajuin Park.

The presence of better facilities and extraordinary natural attractions make this place worthy of being on your travel list.

History of Bajuin Waterfall

In the 1980s to mid-1990s, Bajuin Waterfall was a popular tourist destination in Tanah Laut. Its natural beauty, fresh mountain air, and the calming sound of the waterfall made it a top choice for tourists.

However, the lack of maintenance of supporting facilities eventually caused the popularity of Bajuin Waterfall to decline drastically, until it was finally closed in 1995.

In 2019, the Tanah Laut Regency Government began revitalizing this area. With support from the local Tourism Office, Bajuin Waterfall was restored and developed into a more modern destination without losing its natural beauty.

On July 1, 2020, this destination was re-inaugurated as Bajuin Park, with the hope of reviving the passion for nature tourism in South Kalimantan.

Within the first two weeks of its opening, the site recorded more than 2,000 visits, indicating public enthusiasm for enjoying the beauty of the renovated Bajuin Falls.
